Central Easter Camp 2019
"Nga Tokotoru Tapu"
Ma te whakapono, ma te tumanako
In 2019, with the help of the Chosen Whanau, we created these pieces to portray a Maaori view on the Easter Story. These pieces were created across 3 days, amongst the thousand young people who attended this Easter Camp.
We created a bridge between worlds and understandings, these pieces now stand at Hutt City Baptist in Lower Hutt.
The three pou represent Jesus on the cross with the two thieves beside him. They represent the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Condemnation, resurrection and hope for the future.
The first pou is a symbolism of Love, the theme of this years Easter Camp.
The middle pou represents the resurrection of Jesus, a miracle, showing God's almighty power.
The third pou represents Hope, a new beginning, the promise to nga tangata that those who trust in Him will prosper in His grace, and soar on wings like eagles.
