This exhibition, “Whakahou, Whakaora” focuses on the renewal and specifically spiritual restoration of our whenua. I find myself distraught as I listen to Papatuanuku, as she weeps for healing, for renewal, for health. Generations of spiritual stripping, leading us down a path of spiritual desecration of our land.

Working with mirror and canvases, I attempt to bring to light the severity of this kaupapa, capturing beauty and a harsh reality within each piece.
